Letter Translator

PRIMARY FUNCTION AND RELATIONSHIP TO TOTAL ORGANIZATION:

To read and analyze correspondence from partners in the United States, Canada and Foreign

Countries.  Will accurately respond by posting appropriate responses, products and contributions.

Requires the ability to read, translate  and proof letters written in Spanish/English as well as pray with

partners over the phone in Spanish. To assist in translation of the TV program or small booklets  into Spanish if needed.  To translate data into Spanish for future website use.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Translate and analyze Foreign and U.S. mail and answer their inquiries by inserting special paragraphs

or composing data make available by the ministry. Decipher handwriting in Spanish and in English.

Sets up new records on the computer and search for information regarding the partners

Change of addresses.  Writes up information on those needing special handling.  Proofs letters

Written in Spanish and English.  Capable of setting up letters in Spanish in Microsoft Work using

Templates.  Can pray for partners over the phone in Spanish and English.  Proofs letters in

Spanish and English.  Always aware of what is going on in the Ministry.  Handle voice mail via a PC listening for the partner name/address and writing down the information and prayer requests or any other information needed to send out items or letters.  If needed assist in the translation of books into Spanish.  If needed help in translating the

TV program into Spanish.  Assists in the Opening Room with the opening of the mail and in

the banking of the donations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED

6 months clerical experience

Has worked as a translator previously (Helpful)

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

40+ WPM keying skills with accuracy

10 key (helpful)

Word and Excel (required)

Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines

Maintain Confidentiality

Good verbal and written communication, spelling and grammar.

Recall Data

Must understand all aspects of the ministry

Must be able to work with a group of people in a production type atmosphere

PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS will include but not be limited to:  sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, repetitive motion, using equipment requiring manual dexterity (10-key and/or computer), and light lifting up to 25 lbs on occasion.  Visual requirements are good near, far, and color vision, and the ability to bring objects into sharp focus.    Must be able to hear clearly and distinctly.

HOURS OF WORK & ATTENDANCE:

7:30 AM to 4:00 PM Occasionally weekend work, some overtime
