Richard’s Kenya Blog – January 27

Hello, everyone! I’ve arrived with the ministry team in Nairobi, Kenya, and I’m so thrilled to be here for this crusade. Nairobi is a very large city, filled with businesses and tall buildings, but when I pass through its crowded streets,

what I notice most are the people. There are millions of them. Yet God knows each one of them by name. I can’t wait to minister to them during our upcoming nightly healing crusades.

We’ve also held the first day of a two-day pastors conference, where I was honored today to share key leadership and ministry principles with 3,500 Kenyan ministers—a very large crowd! I believe strongly in building up the men and women of God who will care for the people who receive salvation, healing, and other miracles during our crusade meetings. Tomorrow, I will lay my hands on them, believing God to impart to them a double portion of the anointing to help them serve other people for His glory.

Nairobi slumsToday, we also held the first of four medical clinics in Humuna, which is one of four slum areas around Nairobi. Joined by Kenyan medical staff, our team of doctors and nurses saw more than 1,200 men, women, and children…people who don’t have the money it takes to get any medical care.

MedicinesBut thanks to the support of our partners, we were able to supply medicines to treat pain, infections, parasites, asthma, and gastrointestinal problems to those in need. And as always, our humanitarian arm, Hunger Needs a Voice®, provided nutritious meals of fortified rice and protein to every family who attended the clinic.Food being given to those in desperate need

It was a long day but well worth the work. Many people accepted Jesus as Lord during the eight-hour clinic…people like Martin. Martin was among the first patients that our doctors saw when the clinic started. His left leg was withered and rendered useless due to polio. Now, he can only crawl on all fours. But today, Martin received the most important miracle of all—salvation! He left with a smile on his face as he told us he would come to our crusade meetings later this week. The healing prayersOur team and I are rejoicing over all the salvations so far. And every person who sowed their seed-faith gifts and their prayers into this crusade has just received The healing prayersthe first of what I believe will be a huge harvest of souls.

I can’t thank everyone enough for helping make this trip to Kenya possible. And today is just the beginning. Already, miracles are happening. Everyone on our team is filled with a joyful anticipation of what we can sense God is going to do over the next several days.
