Mission: Nicaragua
Arrived today in Managua. The flight went smoothly, no hitches, and everyone got their luggage. (Praise God!) Flew over Lake Managua and several mountains, including a volcano or two. A beautiful sight!
The team and I hit the ground running…and we’re already having a great time! Learned that the medical teams from Nicaragua and El Salvador who are helping us with our outreaches were able to get to Boaco a day earlier than planned – a tremendous blessing. They told me that hundreds of sick people had traveled from outlying villages just to get help. Tomorrow, we’re expecting to treat several hundred more adults and children. We’ve got parasite medications, antibiotics, children’s cold and flu treatments, vitamins…And let me tell you, our doctors and nurses are eager to get to work.
Also got the food shipments in for Hunger Needs a Voice®. Jordan and Adrian orchestrated the unloading of a 40-foot flatbed truck full of food. Teams of fellow Christians from at least five Managuan churches joined us. Everyone got sweaty unloading the boxes of food, but it was worth it. And there was a lot of laughter. What a great group of people to have working with me.
It’s incredible to hear everyone’s stories about how they came to the Lord, or how they came to join us on this outreach. God’s so creative…He brought people from near and far, and in so many ways…And He’s a faithful Father to each person on our outreach team. Amazing! Can’t wait to tell Lindsay about these stories when I get home.
Tomorrow our team of doctors and nurses will join the Nicaraguan and El Salvadoran team in Boaco…And then we’ll be holding a healing rally there in the evening. A full day, and then some. Agree with us that lives will be changed…that people will be gloriously saved, healed, and delivered…and most of all, that God will have His perfect way in Boaco!
Can’t wait to fill you in about it all tomorrow. See you then!
