Decision Made to Dissolve International Charismatic Bible Ministries
In 1986, at the prompting of the Holy Spirit, the International Charismatic Bible Ministries fellowship was formed, with Oral Roberts elected as its founding chairman. At that time there was a great need for fellowship among Charismatic ministers, who were looking for a group of like-minded ministers and ministry leaders with whom they could share their vision and their dreams for the future. They also needed a place where they could go for refreshing, and to receive ministry for their own personal needs. And for more than 20 years, ICBM fulfilled its reason for being many times over through our tremendous annual conferences and times of personal ministry and fellowship.
Today, Charismatic churches and ministries have grown to such an extent that many have founded fellowships of their own. Taking that and other factors into account in recent years, it appears that the original purpose for forming the ICBM fellowship no longer applies as it once did—to have a place for Charismatic leaders to call “home.”
With that in mind, a meeting of our Executive Committee was recently held, and a motion was passed—which was subsequently ratified by our entire Board of Trustees—to dissolve ICBM as an organization.
My father, Oral Roberts, and I have treasured the relationships that ICBM has given us through the years with our members and all those who attended our conferences. As we move into what God has for the future, we pray that God will bless you, your families, and your ministries exceedingly abundantly above all that you could ever ask or think, in Jesus’ mighty name.
